The Health of The Country

The Health of the Country introduced the definition of “environmental health” and its multiple applications to the expansion of the US frontier.

This developed hierarchies of health and nature. The chapters you had to read for this past week each dealt with a topic: air, water, etc.

In 2-3 pgs take 2 chapters from Health of the Country ( the two chapters are chapter 1 and chapter 2 and I’ve attached them), explore their central argument, and apply them to our understanding of public health in the Las Vegas Valley through the Guardian article we discussed in class Las Vegas and Life Expectancy (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. Make sure to go beyond generic discussions than heat or limited water resources.
