Create an essay outline to organize your ideas. Within your essay outline you should
have: a working thesis statement, three supporting points, at least three pieces of
evidence from secondary sources, and three pieces of analysis (one for each point).
Create an audience profile. Who will be reading your essay? You need to understand
who your audience is and what their needs are if you hope to write an effective essay.
Remember to consider the rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, and pathos) in relation to
your intended audience.
